Caribou are one of my favourite animals. After I wrote a research paper about this amazing species for my mammalogy class, I was inspired to paint them in the beautiful snowy environment with which they are often associated. I didn't get around to doing this until a year later, when a frustrating lack of snow over winter led me to paint my own!
